Start with the walls
A fresh coat of warm off-white instantly lifts the whole room and makes it feel bigger. We primed first, then rolled two coats of a washable emulsion for a smooth, hard-wearing finish.
Layer the lighting
One big ceiling light rarely feels cosy. We added a warm LED panel for even daytime light and a couple of lamps for softer evenings, so the room can shift with the mood.

Wood, linen and a woven basket add warmth against the neutral backdrop — the little details that make a space feel finished rather than flat.
